As the somber 20-year commemoration of the July 2006 war approaches in the context of a new Israeli ground invasion of southern Lebanon, some voices from the Lebanese diaspora set out to denounce the ongoing destruction and erasure, while it is still possible to do so. For Wael Koudaih, known by his former rapper pseudonym Rayess Bek, the revival of "Goodbye Schlöndorff," thirteen years after its creation, is a way to resist the status quo.
