Following the announcement of a cease-fire between the U.S. and Iran, different versions emerged about what this could mean for the war in Lebanon. The clauses explicitly call for a halt to the Israel-Hezbollah war in Lebanon, according to statements by Iranian officials. But for Israel, the deal “does not include” Lebanon, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated Wednesday morning, followed a few hours later by the Israeli president, who assured that attacks in Lebanon would continue. For now, the United States is maintaining radio silence on the matter.
