Behind the numbers are names and faces. A closer look at the deadly Israeli strikes killing civilians across Lebanon. From their childhood in Hanine to their adult lives in Tibnin, in southern Lebanon, nothing ever separated Ali and Karam. Not even death.

Their hands had never let go. Not in childhood, when they were small and gentle, nor later, when they grew rough and worn from working the land. Not even after they slipped wedding rings onto their fingers and each had children of their own.“Only exhaustion after a long day could separate them,” said Hassan Moussa, the brother of Karam, 52, and Ali Moussa, 50.
