Hezbollah more radical than ever

Anyone familiar with Hezbollah has noted a significant shift – in its behavior, in the statements of its leaders, and in its combat tactics. Members themselves acknowledge that the emergence of “a new Hezbollah” is underway. This change is partly due to the fact that most of the senior figures, belonging to what former Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah called “the founding generation,” were killed by the Israelis. As a result, those now in command – generally unknown to the public – belong to a younger generation that did not experience the earlier stages. This generation is determined at all costs to confront those it sees as enemies.
