In addition to the unprecedented strike on the Aisha Bakkar neighborhood in Beirut, the Israeli army continued its deadly attacks across Lebanon on Wednesday. At least 14 people were killed in two separate strikes in Shehabieh (Sour district) and Tamnin (Bekaa), according to our correspondents.

At the same time, Israel announced the deployment of the Golani Brigade to the Lebanese border and issued an evacuation notice to residents of seven villages and hamlets in the Saida district in southern Lebanon.

Israel also renewed its call to evacuate several areas of Beirut's southern suburbs, which were the target of three powerful strikes late in the morning.

According to local media, the first targeted the Abiad neighborhood near the al-Qaem mosque, while the other two targeted the Hadi Nasrallah highway.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed to have confronted advances by the Israeli army in southern Lebanon on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

In the morning, fighting was also reported in Khiam (Marjayoun), according to our correspondent in southern Lebanon. Shelling and rocket fire were heard in the area, while smoke rose from several points in the village.

'Wave of simultaneous strikes against Iran and Beirut'

The Israeli army said it conducted "a new wave of strikes" in Beirut's southern suburbs on Wednesday morning, which it said targeted "terror headquarters and sites used to store equipment belonging to Hezbollah."

It also claimed a strike carried out on Tuesday in the Sour region against "a Hezbollah headquarters."

A few hours later, the Israeli army's Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, announced on X the launch of "a wave of simultaneous and large-scale strikes against Iran and Beirut," though no attack took place in the capital in the afternoon.

The Israeli army also called for the evacuation of villages and hamlets in the Saida district, located north of the Litani River: Matariat al-Shumar, Kharayeb, Arzeh, Zrarieh, Mazraat al-Wasta and Mazraat Jemjom. "Hezbollah's activities force the Israeli army to act against it forcefully without harming you," the spokesperson wrote on X.

In southern Lebanon, seven people were killed and 11 were injured in Israeli strikes on Shehabieh. The attacks continued throughout the day. Late in the morning, two drone strikes targeted Nabatieh Tahta and Nabatieh Fawqa, while a third struck Qleileh (Sour) and a fourth hit an automobile showroom in Shaqra (Bint Jbeil), injuring two people.

Other airstrikes hit Tiri (Bint Jbeil) and Hmeiri (Sour). In Bint Jbeil, three people were killed when a drone hit a car near Salah Ghandour Hospital. In Hanaway (Sour), two people died in a strike targeting two motorcycles. In Habboush (Nabatieh), a strike killed two people, a father and his son, according to our correspondent.

Artillery fire also targeted the outskirts of Rashaya al-Foukhar (Hasbaya), the plain of Qleileh, Wadi Aazzieh (Sour), as well as Aitaroun (Bint Jbeil), where Israeli forces continue their advance. In the afternoon, Israeli warplanes carried out raids on the villages of Majdel Zoun, Wadi Zibqine (Tyre), Kfar Joz (Nabatieh), Touline (Marjayoun), Kafra, Beit Yahoun, Yater, Qabrikha, and Majdel Selm (all in the Bint Jbeil district).

A Red Cross paramedic, Youssef Assaf, originally from Sour, died of wounds sustained in an Israeli strike on Majdel Zoun (Sour district).

In the Bekaa, an Israeli strike on a stone block factory in Tamnin al-Tahta killed seven people and wounded 18, according to a preliminary toll from the Lebanese Health Ministry. In addition, a strike on Ali al-Nahri injured five people, the statement said. A drone strike also targeted a pickup truck at the Dalil farm in the Boudai municipality in northern Bekaa.

Deployment of the Golani Brigade in Lebanon

Regarding the Israeli ground offensive in southern Lebanon, Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir "ordered the reinforcement of the area under the Northern Front Command, as well as the transfer of the Golani Brigade combat team from the Southern Front Command to operate in the Northern Front Command area" in Lebanon, according to the Israeli army spokesperson.

The Golani Brigade consists of three infantry battalions – the 12th, 13th and 51st – and a reconnaissance battalion, subordinate to the Israeli army’s 36th division.

As Israel continues its advances in southern Lebanon, where it has deployed several divisions and aims to establish a "security" perimeter along its border, Hezbollah claimed overnight to have fired and launched strikes on Israeli soldiers inside Lebanese territory, notably around Aitaroun (Bint Jbeil), Khiam and Markaba (Marjayoun).

The party-militia said it had "spotted" an Israeli force advancing towards the so-called Khanouq area in Aitaroun at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, and had "targeted it with rocket salvos." It also claimed simultaneous attacks around Markaba the day before at around 4 p.m. And at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Hezbollah fighters fired a salvo of rockets at Israeli soldiers south of Khiam.

During the day, Hezbollah claimed to have fired rockets 10 times, notably at Israeli soldiers south of Khiam. It also said it had targeted the position occupied by Israelis since the 2024 cease-fire at Jabal Blat, near Ramieh (Bint Jbeil).

Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed 570 people, including 86 children and 45 women, since the country was dragged into the regional war on March 2, the Health Ministry announced Wednesday. According to the same source, 84 people were killed on Tuesday alone. The toll compiled by Lebanese authorities on Tuesday evening indicated that Israel has displaced 753,000 people since the beginning of the war in Lebanon.
