Government explores a hybrid telecoms model between state control and privatization
The Cabinet is reviewing on Thursday a draft-decision to sign contracts with private companies to manage, operate and invest in the telecommunications sector.

The mobile telecommunications file, one of the few sectors still capable of generating steady revenue for the state, returns to the Cabinet’s table on Thursday.After years of stagnation, the government is examining a draft decision to revive the competitive bidding process for the management and operation of its two public networks, MIC 1 and MIC 2.Notably, the text proposes once again entrusting the Telecommunications Ministry with launching the preparatory steps for two international tenders.
