AUB puts STEM in the spotlight and attracts thousands of young Lebanese
In early November, the university opened its doors for three days to nearly 2,400 students from across Lebanon, in addition to its students and faculty, for the first edition of its STEM Week.

The event featured a variety of activities aimed primarily at sparking public curiosity and promoting interest in STEM disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. “The main objective was to open the campus to the community, but also to celebrate STEM as a driving force — at the foundation of discoveries, innovations and progress. In parallel, we especially wanted to highlight the research work being done at AUB,” said Rihab Nasr, director of the event and a professor in the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiological Sciences at the American University of Beirut’s Faculty of Medicine.
