"We do not interfere in Lebanon's internal affairs," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X about three weeks ago. "But we are in favor of any dialogue that would strengthen bilateral relations ... I invite my Lebanese counterpart Joe Rajji to visit Tehran." On Wednesday, Araghchi followed through: he sent a letter inviting the foreign minister, who is close to the Lebanese Forces, to Iran. Rajji had laid the groundwork for the invitation last month, proposing "negotiations in a neutral country" with Araghchi to discuss, in particular, the issue of Hezbollah's weapons.
