BEIRUT — The Internal Security Forces said Dib was arrested on Aug. 23 after a month of investigations and surveillance, during a raid on his home in Rahbeh, Akkar, and that he was wanted under two arrest and detention warrants on drug-related charges.

The arrest came as authorities were enforcing an arrest warrant against Dib. He is expected to be referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete legal and judicial proceedings.

The arrest comes one day after Dib’s ex-wife, Lebanese influencer Shrouq Sunshine, held a widely publicized divorce party on Aug. 22 at the Oceya Beach Resort in Kaslik. The event followed months of public controversy surrounding their separation, including the circulation of videos that appeared to show Dib physically assaulting Shrouq, including while she was pregnant.

In July, the Mount Lebanon Criminal Court sentenced Dib, in absentia, to life imprisonment with hard labor for manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling narcotics. Investigators found cannabis resin hidden inside his branded chocolate and biscuit packaging intended for shipment to Turkey.

In February 2025, Mount Lebanon investigative judge Ziad Dghaidy requested a life sentence at hard labor for Dib on charges of “manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling drugs abroad.”

A judicial source told L’Orient-Le Jour at the time that the drugs were concealed in cake packaging and stored in a warehouse near Beirut International Airport.

A total of 820 kilograms of hashish were seized in 2024. Dib allegedly had the packaging produced at a facility in the Charawneh neighborhood of Baalbeck, in the Bekaa Valley. He was already the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Dghaidy in May 2024 on the same charges.

Reports had circulated about a possible flight by “Dr Food” to Dubai, and several sources told L’Orient-Le Jour in 2025 that he was abroad.
