A Syrian jihadist group named “Saraya Ansar al-Sunna” (“Brigade of Sunni Supporters”) declared itself active in Tripoli (northern Lebanon) in a statement published on Saturday, May 10. It threatens to “strike the apostates among the nusayris [the Alawites], the rawafed [a derogatory term for Shiites] and the Druze.”The Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces (ISF) said they had no information on the matter when contacted.
