By the time his surprise visit — having arrived without notice Sunday evening in Beirut — had concluded on Tuesday, the Saudi envoy to Lebanon, Yazid bin Farhan, had met with all three top leaders in the country: President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.Political sources say several issues were addressed during the visit, including the reforms required to finalize an agreement with the International Monetary Fund, as well as implementing security measures to enhance surveillance and controls at Beirut's international airport, the Port of Beirut, and other port infrastructure.
