President Joseph Aoun left for Doha on an official visit to Qatar in response to an invitation from the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Lebanese Presidency said in a post on X Tuesday.

Accompanying the president are Minister of Foreign Affairs Youssef Rajji and upon arrival in Doha, Lebanon's Ambassador to Qatar, Farah Berri, will join the official delegation, the post said.

"The visit will continue until tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, and will include a bilateral meeting between President Aoun and the Emir of Qatar, as well as extensive talks involving both the Qatari and Lebanese delegations," the post said.

Qatari Education and Higher Education Minister, and of International Cooperation, Sheikha Loulwa bint Rachid al-Khater, visited Beirut on Wednesday, and stated that her country is "determined to cooperate" with Lebanon and support it following the devastating war between Hezbollah and Israel, as well as the unprecedented economic crisis the country has gone through since 2019.

Doha has regularly positioned itself as a reliable partner of Lebanon, providing direct financial assistance, particularly to the Lebanese Army, and responding swiftly during crises, such as after the double explosion at the Beirut Port.
