First lady Neemat Aoun expressed hope Wednesday evening at the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York that upcoming appointments in Lebanon’s administration — following over two years of presidential vacancy — would include a significant number of women."In the coming months, the [Lebanese] government is expected to appoint officials to more than half of the state's leadership positions, and we hope a balanced share will be allocated to women," Aoun said at the session’s opening at the U.N. headquarters.
