Dalal Maoush was dismissed from her post as acting head of the Financial Affairs Department at the Telecommunications Ministry on Jan. 16. The dismissal, made by Corm, came after she refused to comply with the instructions of her superiors — Corm and the ministry’s director general of operations and maintenance, Bassel Ayoubi — who had asked her to implement a decision to stagger the payment of the arrears owed to the state by internet service providers (ISPs).An informed source told L’Orient-Le Jour that the latter had argued that their payment difficulties were due to the war and the daily Israeli bombardments and that the director general had asked Maoush to proceed with the rescheduling of the debt’s payment in installment, as previously approved by the minister.
