How long will the war take before it ends? There are conflicting answers in military, political and diplomatic circles. Some believe that the finish line is close and that it is possible to bring about a cease-fire in a few weeks. Others believe that it will take longer and that Israel is taking Hezbollah’s military capabilities seriously, particularly since the latter widened its operations over the past few days, which stresses the need for Israel to reduce or even eliminate these capabilities. Since the start of the ground operation, it has been said behind closed doors at the international level that the U.S. granted Israel a five-week period to achieve its series of objectives.
