Residents of the Miami luxury apartment tower where Netanyahu's son lives were locked down Tuesday due to a "suspicious object," according to the Jerusalem Post, citing Israeli N12.
Netanyahu's son, Yair, was "not in the tower at the time of the lockdown having only arrived back to his home on Wednesday."
According to the source, residents received a "cryptic message from the building management and police department telling them to stay in their apartments and not go near the windows." Three hours later, they received another message informing them the "lockdown was over and they were free to leave their apartments."
One of the residents told N12 that there had been a "fire alarm pulled earlier that day, and although he could not say for certain, he believed it was connected."
The same resident added that the building's WhatsApp group was "filled with rumors, some saying that it was a bomb while others claiming that it was a routine procedure and that people were overreacting."
Yair has been living in this apartment throughout the Hamas-Israel war in Gaza which left more than 40,000 Palestinians and about 1,200 Israelis killed since Oct. 7.
The Jerusalem Post added that the fact that many Israeli people live in this building increased the panic.
