Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar stated on Wednesday that the attack on the Houthis on Saturday also targeted "the Middle East, as well as Hezbollah and Iran."
On Saturday, Israeli fighter jets struck "military targets" in western Yemen, controlled by the Houthi rebels, who had claimed responsibility for a drone attack that killed one person in Tel Aviv the previous day. According to the Houthis, the attack resulted in six deaths and nearly 100 injuries.
"The attack on the Houthis targeted the Middle East, as well as Hezbollah and Iran," Bar said, according to Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee.
Speaking from northern Israel about the Gaza war, Bar clarified that "the air force's responsibility is to fully implement operational plans."
"Throughout the war, we maintain a capability that allows us, if war were to break out in the north and with Iran, to be able to conduct it."
"We will act as decisively as possible against an enemy we know," he added, claiming that "there will be surprises." He concluded, "We are ready for war."
