BEIRUT — The son of Hezbollah sheikh Mohammad Jomaa, Hadi Jomaa, died in his car on Thursday under mysterious circumstances in the village of Houmin Fawqa (Nabatieh district).
Jomaa is a Hezbollah official involved in cultural activities, according to Muntasser Abdallah, our correspondent in the South.
Residents earlier informed our correspondent in the South that it remains unclear whether his car was targeted by an Israeli drone or if his death resulted from another cause. Several local media outlets reported that his car was "targeted" without providing further information.
Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in daily skirmishes since Oct. 8, a day after the start of the Gaza war. Since then, Israel has conducted numerous targeted strikes on cars and motorcycles belonging to Hezbollah members.
When contacted by L'Orient Today, Hezbollah's press office confirmed the death but could not provide further details about the circumstances.
