For over a month, fuel prices continue to rise

The price of fuel in Lebanese Lira continued to rise on Friday, a recent trend that started on Jan. 19. According to our calculations based on the various price tables published by the Ministry of Energy and Water during this time period, the price of 20 liters of fuel has risen by more than LL 130,000 in a month which, if converted at the market rate of LL 89,500 to $1, is an increase in around $1.50.

The price of diesel, which had followed a similar trajectory, fell slightly this Friday whether in LL or dollars, while that of gas cylinders remained stable.

Here are the latest prices:

- 20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL 1,632,000 (+LL 11,000).

- 20 liters of 98 octane gasoline: LL 1,670,000 (+LL 10,000).

- 20 liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL 1,614,000 (-LL 1,000).

- Domestic gas cylinder: LL 943,000 (unchanged).

- Kiloliter of fuel oil (used to power private electric generators): $838.06 (down $0.78 from Tuesday's last update).
