Skirmishes resumed on Tuesday between Israel and Hezbollah on the Lebanese-Israeli borders. Since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas, the Shia militant group and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire on an almost daily basis.

According to the principal, the school had been closing intermittently, when the village of Yater was subjected to artillery shelling. Now, following Tuesday's incident, the school's administration has decided to close the school and will start teaching online to protect the students.

"If the shrapnel had fallen on one of the classrooms, a massacre would have occurred," exclaimed Suwaidan.

According to the village's head of municipality Khalil Kourani, the incident sparked "terror" among the students who were evacuated for safety.
