BEIRUT — A Hezbollah-owned truck overturned Wednesday evening in Kahaleh, Aley, deteriorating into an extremely tense security situation that prompted heavy Lebanese Army deployment.
Unconfirmed reports by several local media outlets indicated at least one fatality and several injuries. Other media sources mention at least two serious injuries.
A Hezbollah spokesperson confirmed to L'Orient-Le Jour that the overturned vehicle does belong to the party, but gave no details about its cargo.

Images broadcasted by several local television stations show a significant military presence at the scene. The road has been completely blocked by soldiers, who placed a white tarpaulin on the overturned truck.
Numerous videos shared on social media depict individuals running amidst the confusion. Heavy gunfire can also be heard in the videos and unidentified persons can be seen opening fire on the road near the accident.
Attempts to reach the Internal Security Forces and the army for comment were not immediately successful. The Lebanese Red Cross also declined to provide information regarding the potential casualty toll.
