Our Initiatives

A Christmas of solidarity, a gift for every child!

A Christmas of solidarity, a gift for every child!

Dear reader,

"A Christmas of Solidarity" is back for another edition!

In 2021, thanks to your generosity, we were able to offer 1,249 new gifts to over 640 families. A magical moment for them!

The holidays are around the corner! We invite you to take part again this year in our solidarity initiative. Let's show our support to the families who need it the most and who can no longer make ends meet in this context of crisis and soaring prices.

#AChristmasOfSolidarity is an initiative by L'Orient-Le Jour and L'Orient Today that aims to collect donations from Dec. 1- 20 to buy gifts. The gifts will then be distributed to parents who cannot afford to buy presents for their children, in order to celebrate the holiday season.

Parents receiving these donations are invited to visit the crypt of St. Joseph's Church on Monot Street on Dec. 19, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., or Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., to choose a gift of their liking to give their child on Christmas Eve.

A huge challenge awaits us, for which we need each and every one of you. We know that in times of crisis, it is very difficult to raise funds, but these children need us! They need to forget, for one night, their precarious everyday life.

Help us bring them warmth and joy this Christmas!

Please choose one of the following ways to donate:

A- Make a donation on our website.

B- Deposit an envelope with a cash amount at the crypt of St. Joseph's Church on Monot Street, on Dec. 19 or 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., specifying that it is a donation for L'Orient-Le Jour's "A Christmas of Solidarity" initiative.

C- Deposit an envelope with a cash amount at the offices of L'Orient-Le Jour, Hazmieh Highway, between Dec. 1 and 20. Our offices are open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ask for the accounting department.

For any other information, please contact us at +961 (0) 5 956 444 or marketing@lorientlejour.com

We count on you, once again this year, to make this Christmas a time of solidarity.

A huge thank you to those of you who will take the time to share this initiative or who will contribute with a donation that will help us make the children's eyes shine!
