BEIRUT — The Lebanese Army said on Monday that it had received a donation of three buses and two containers of motor oil donated by Italy.
Here’s what we know:
• These donations were received at the Port of Beirut. The army regularly receives aid from foreign countries, the most recent being from Qatar which announced aid of $60 million at the beginning of July.
• US President Joe Biden had authorized the donation of $67m of military assistance for Lebanon’s armed forces to support members of the military as the country faces a steep economic crisis.
