Our Initiatives

A Christmas of solidarity, so that every child has a gift!

A Christmas of solidarity, so that every child has a gift!

Christmas is a time of giving and sharing with all those who are dear to us. Reunions, gifts, good times spent together… but for many Lebanese, this period now rhymes with deprivation. What if we made a gesture of solidarity to help families weakened by the crisis?

We need your help!

#AChristmasOfSolidarity is an initiative of L’Orient Today and L'Orient-Le Jour that aims to collect donations from December 3rd till the 22nd to buy gifts. The gifts will then be distributed to parents who cannot afford to buy presents for their children, in order to offer a little bit of magic in these families’ lives and help create a pleasant holiday season for them.

Parents receiving these donations are invited to visit the crypt of St. Joseph's Church on Monot Street on December 21st and 22nd to choose a gift of their liking to give their child on Christmas Eve.

Thanks to your contribution, many families in Lebanon will forget, for one night, their precarious everyday life and place gifts for their children at the foot of their Christmas tree.

You can contribute in three ways:

A- Make a donation on our website.

B- Deposit a check in the name of "Société Générale de Presse et d'Édition SAL" or an envelope with a cash amount at the Saint-Joseph Church, Monot Street. The church’s reception is open every day, between December 3rd and 22nd, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Ask for Chehade (70/004309) or Souad (03/552649) at the reception.

C- Deposit a check in the name of "Société Générale de Presse et d'Édition SAL" or an envelope with a cash amount at the offices of L'Orient-Le Jour, Hazmieh Highway, between December 3rd and 22nd. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ask for the accounting department.
