SOUTH LEBANON — Israel warned Tuesday that it was preparing to carry out a "wave of attacks" on southern Lebanon, as strikes had already been conducted in the morning in the occupied zone on Lebanese territory.
In a message reported by Israel's Channel 12, the army announced shortly after 11 a.m. that strikes were forthcoming, alerting residents of "the Hula Valley, the Ramim Ridge, and central Upper Galilee" that they might hear powerful explosions. This warning came the day after the explosion of a suspected Hezbollah munition in northern Israel, which killed a student and injured about twenty others.
This announcement was preceded by two airstrikes, one on the Houjeir Valley in Marjayoun district, and another on Kfar Tibnit, below the Ali Taher hill in Nabatieh district. The night from Monday to Tuesday was relatively calm, despite several artillery bombardments targeting the outskirts of Braasheet and the al-Areesh sector on the outskirts of Hariss, in the Bint Jbeil district, as well as the area around Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh district, and Wadi Zibqine in the Sour district, according to our correspondent.
