BEIRUT — Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon overnight into Monday were fewer than on most recent nights, our correspondent reported.
At around 5:30 a.m., Israeli artillery fire struck Nabatieh Fawqa (Nabatieh).
During the night, Israeli forces launched gunfire at Wadi Slouqi (Marjayoun), and airstrikes on Mansouri (Sour). Israeli artillery also struck the Arayesh area and the plain between Haddatha and Haris (Bint Jbeil), as well as Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya).
On Sunday, Israel launched airstrikes on five villages, artillery fire on 12 others, and conducted demolitions in two.
Israeli soldiers wounded over the weekend
Meanwhile, Israeli news website Ynet provided additional details about the two Israeli soldiers wounded over the weekend, one of them seriously, their army announced Sunday. It reported that “two operational incidents” in which soldiers were wounded had occurred.
In the first incident, two vehicles from the army’s 36th Division collided, lightly injuring several soldiers.
The second incident occurred in the western sector of the Israeli-occupied area of south Lebanon, where two soldiers from the 91st Division were wounded, one lightly and the other seriously, “as a result of the mishandling of a grenade.” Such incidents remain “exceptional,” the website claimed.
The previous day, the Israeli army announced the incident on X, saying both soldiers had been evacuated to a hospital.
