A Lebanese man and two Syrians were arrested in Kfar Dibian, Kesrouan, as part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking. A search of their residence allowed the Internal Security Forces (ISF) to seize, among other things, marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine, as well as several weapons, including a Kalashnikov and a Dragunov sniper rifle, according to a statement released Thursday.
The investigation began after the Central Office for Drug Control received information suggesting regular drug deliveries to Kfar Dibian by a Lebanese citizen, K.A., born in 1974. The man was also suspected of possessing several war weapons.
After monitoring his activities, a patrol from the Office raided his residence on Aug. 21 and proceeded with his arrest. Two Syrian nationals, H.J., born in 1996, and A.R., born in 2005, were also apprehended at the scene as suspected accomplices.
The search led to the discovery of several types of drugs, including marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine. Investigators also seized a precision scale, a grinder containing marijuana and equipment used for producing crack cocaine.
On the weapons front, the ISF seized a machine gun, a Kalashnikov, a Ruger rifle, a Dragunov sniper rifle and two pistols, as well as a quantity of ammunition.
The three suspects were referred to the competent judiciary, along with the seized products and weapons, and the necessary legal measures were taken against them, according to the ISF.
