Israeli warplanes have carried out two strikes on Mansouri (Sour district), one between Haris and Haddatha (Bint Jbeil), and a forth one on Wadi Slouqi.

Meanwhile, an Israeli tank has fired four shells toward houses on the western outskirts of Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun).

Earlier, the Israeli army carried out a new detonation in Mansouri.

Iran threatens to strike US bases in the region if its oil tankers continue to be attacked

The chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, Ali Abdollahi, threatened Tuesday to launch further attacks against U.S. bases in the region if Iranian oil tankers are targeted again.

“The U.S. military (...) called for the evacuation of Iranian oil tankers in order to strike them. I therefore announce that any attack on Iranian oil tankers will lead to strikes by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against U.S. bases in the region,” the general said, according to state television.

Explosions have been heard in Kharj Island and the city of Jask in Iran, Reuters reported citing Iranian media.

US official says underwater American military drone 'malfunctioned' in Middle East

A U.S. military drone malfunctioned in the Middle East while it was surveying regional waters in support of the Iran war, a U.S. official told Reuters.

The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the defective drone was an older model and was not carrying any classified sonar or radar equipment. It malfunctioned more than a day ago, the official added.

Earlier today, Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they seized, at dawn today, an unmanned American submarine in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, noting that it was one of the most modern, unmanned, and smart submarines of the U.S. army.

Israeli detonations, artillery shelling continue in Nabatieh district and Mansouri

The Israeli army has carried out two explosions in Kfar Tibnit (Nabatieh district) and Mansouri (Sour).

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelling has targeted Nabatieh Fawqa, Dohat Kfar Roummane (Nabatieh), and Mansouri (Sour).

Municipality of Kfar Roummane says its office will be closed tomorrow 'in light of current security situation'

The municipality of Kfar Roummane (Nabatieh district) said in a statement relayed by our correspondent in the South that its office will be closed tomorrow in light of the current security situation.

It added that it will resume normal operations on Thursday, provided there are no obstacles or security developments preventing it from doing so.

The municipality stressed that it is continuously monitoring developments on the ground and will keep residents informed of any updates regarding the municipality’s operations.

The village of Kfar Roummane have been targeted by deadly Israeli strikes in recent days. An Israeli airstrike followed by a drone strike on an inhabited building in Kfar Roummane killed 12 people overnight Sunday into Monday.

Mayor of Nmeirieh denies clashes between IRGC and residents backed by Amal Movement in the village

Mayor of the village of Nmeirieh (Nabatieh district), Ali Farhat, denied a report that circulated on social media claiming that “heavy clashes had broken out between members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and residents of Nmeirieh allegedly with the support of members of the Amal Movement, following an attempt by IRGC members to establish a center inside a civilian home.

In a call with the Factcheck-Lebanon team at the Ministry of Information, Farhat strongly condemned “these false and fabricated reports, which are intended solely to incite strife and harm the residents of the steadfast town.”

"Everyone, including those behind this report, knows that it is untrue and a fabricated piece of misinformation, paid for by parties seeking to sow discord in the country," he said. He added that “there are no IRGC members in the town, nor have there been any clashes.”

Lebanese army stresses that it was always deployed in Nabatieh, adds that it only intensified its missions to reassure residents

The Lebanese Army said in a statement that its "military units are deployed in all areas where there is no Israeli occupation, particularly the Nabatieh area, both before the current events and during the present period," just hours after some media outlets reported that the Lebanese Army "began to deploy in southern Lebanese areas."

The army added that is has just intensified its missions in a number of areas in order to reassure residents. It also stressed the need to refer to its official statements for accurate information.

Residents of the city of Nabatieh reported earlier today that a patrol of around 12 military vehicles were roaming around the city's main streets.

Two Israeli airstrikes target Nabatieh Fawqa

Two Israeli airstrikes have targeted the village of Nabatieh Fawqa, according to our correspondent in the South.

Earlier this evening, the spokesperson of the municipality of Kiryat Shmona told the residents of the Northern Israeli village and the Galilee communities that in the coming house, the Israeli army is expected to carry out a wave of attacks in Lebanese territory.

"As a result of the attacks, explosions are expected to be heard in the area. Should the situation change, we will update the public immediately. At this stage, routine continues and there are no special instructions for the public," reads the statement.

Israeli drone flies over Baalbeck district at low altitude

In the Bekaa, our correspondent Sarah Abdallah reported that an Israeli drone is flying at low altitude over villages in the Eastern Mountain Range, conducting circular flights over the villages of Janta, Yahfoufa, Shaara and Nabi Sheet, east of Baalbeck.

The Israeli army has carried out a large explosion in the village of Zawtar Sharqiyeh (Nabatieh district) and another detonation in Mansouri (Sour), according to our correspondent in the south.

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelling has targeted the villages of Houla (Marjayoun district) and Mansouri.

'The killing of children must stop immediately' in Lebanon, UNICEF says

UNICEF condemned the killing of children in recent Israeli strikes in Lebanon, saying that 17 children have been killed or injured over the past five days. The organization was referring in particular to Monday’s massacre in Kfar Roummane, in the Nabatieh district, which killed 13 members of the same family, including three children.

“Another child was killed in Lebanon today, another family is left grieving,” the United Nations children’s agency said, denouncing what it described as the “new normal.” “The killing of children must stop immediately. The violence must end now,” the international organization said.

Statement in the name of Arab Salim residents calls Lebanese Army to establish inspection points, municipality source says statement may have been issued individually

A statement was circulated in the name of the residents of Arab Salim (Nabatieh district) calling the Lebanese Army to establish checkpoints and inspection points at the entrances and exits of the village to prevent any activities that "could threaten security and civil peace."

However, a source at the Arab Salim municipality told our correspondent in the south that the municipality has no information regarding the circulated statement, saying that, "to its knowledge, it was not issued by the municipality or the residents." According to the source, it may have been issued individually by a number of people. The source finally stressed that the army is present in Arab Salim and enters the town whenever it wishes.

"Out of concern for the security of our town and the safety of its residents, and in light of the current circumstances and the fears and concerns among residents, we call on the Lebanese Army to go to the Arab Salim municipality, coordinate with the municipal and security authorities, and take the necessary measures to preserve security and stability," reads the statement circulating online.

"We also call for the establishment of checkpoints and inspection points at the entrances and exits of the town, which would help regulate movement in and out, reassure residents, and prevent any activities that could threaten security and civil peace", it added.

The village of Arab Salim has been targeted in recent days by deadly Israeli airstrikes. Earlier today, the Lebanese Army increased its presence in the city of Nabatieh amid the Israeli escalation.

Lebanese Army to conduct daily patrols in Nabatieh without conducting inspection or searches for now

Security sources told our correspondent in the south that the Lebanese Army force that conducted patrols in the city of Nabatieh today, and that will be conducting daily patrols in the city, will not be based inside the city, but in the Zahrani area.

According to the sources, while the force will conduct patrols along city’s roads and through its neighborhoods on a daily basis, it will not carry out inspections or searches for now.

The issue of searching private property has been a major challenge since the signing of the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel in late June.

Israel insists that the Lebanese Army should inspect residents' homes to dismantle Hezbollah's arsenal. Meanwhile, the army has been avoiding such inspections so far, for several reasons, including security imperatives, constitutional safeguards, and fears of provoking tensions with the local population.

The Israeli army has carried out a new detonation in the village of Mansouri (Sour district).

Earlier, Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers were spotted moving in the in the "Madrasa" neighborhood in the village of Mansouri, heading toward the village's square.

Meanwhile, in the Bint Jbeil district, Israeli artillery shelling has targeted the outskirts of Braasheet.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards say they seized unmanned American submarine in Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they seized an unmanned American submarine in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran has blockaded in the months-long Middle East war, AFP reported.

"The IRGC naval forces captured one of the most modern, unmanned, and smart submarines of the US terrorist army at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz in a complex intelligence and operational action at dawn today," the Guards said in a statement reported by state TV and cited by AFP.

Washington places Iran’s entire aviation sector under sanctions

The U.S. government has blacklisted Iran’s entire aviation sector and threatened to sanction any organization working with Iranian airlines, AFP reports.

“All Iranian airlines” are now subject to economic sanctions, the U.S. Treasury Department, which oversees the economic component of Washington’s war against Tehran, said in a statement.

Sudden deployment by Lebanese Army in Nabatieh, security source says 'nothing new'

Residents of the city of Nabatieh reported a sudden deployment of the Lebanese Army, with more than 12 military vehicles deployed on its main streets, particularly Mahmoud Fakih Street, according to our correspondent in the South. However, a security source downplayed the deployment to L'Orient Today, saying that "the Lebanese Army has always been present in Nabatieh" and there is "nothing new."

According to our correspondent, the move was widely welcomed by residents, particularly amid the escalation in the area over the past two nights, which included heavy Israeli airstrikes that caused extensive destruction and killed dozens, mainly in Kfar Roummane.

Sources monitoring the situation, cited by our correspondent, said that the Lebanese Army will maintain its presence in Nabatieh by conducting regular patrols in the city’s neighborhoods and along its main roads, as part of efforts to strengthen security measures and reassure residents. It was not immediately clear whether the move was linked to political developments or was simply a routine measure.

Yesterday, two MPs from the 2019 protest movement, Marc Daou (Aley) and Firas Hamdan (Hasbaya), called on Lebanese authorities on Monday to “save Nabatieh” by deploying the army there and declaring it “free of weapons,” as the Israeli army launched a deadly escalation in the area following the fall of the strategic Ali Taher area.

Iran says 'significant progress' in talks with Oman over Hormuz

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday there had been "significant progress" in talks with Oman over the administration of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Iran and Oman, both coastal states on the strait, have for weeks been discussing the future of navigation through the waterway, with Tehran saying progress had been made to agree on a temporary shipping route.

U.K. to sanction al-Qard al-Hassan

Britain's foreign minister Ed Miliband said that the UK is sanctioning Hezbollah-run financial institution al-Qard al-Hassan, as he announced a trade ban on goods made in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, according to Reuters.

Lebanon's central bank last year banned banks and brokerages from dealing with Al-Qard Al-Hassan.

Yemen: Houthis report Saudi strikes

A Houthi media outlet reported a series of airstrikes in two regions of Yemen, following a large-scale attack carried out by the rebels in Saudi Arabia earlier in the morning that left 73 civilians wounded.

“Saudi aggression targeted” the Taiz region with a series of strikes, the area where clashes have been taking place since Thursday between Yemeni government forces backed by Riyadh and the rebels, the Houthi-run Almasirah TV reported.

Saudi Arabia has not commented on any possible strikes at this stage, but reiterated on Tuesday its right to defend its sovereignty.

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelling has targeted the villages of Mansouri, Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun) and Israeli soldiers sparked fires in Wadi Slouqi.

South Lebanon: Blasts reported near Beni Hayan, fire targets Zawtar Sharqieh

The Israeli army continued its attacks in southern Lebanon, carrying out a demolition near Beni Hayan (Marjayoun) and continuing to demolish homes in Mansouri.

Israeli forces also targeted the outskirts of Zawtar Sharqieh, on the Mayfadoun side of the village in the Nabatieh district, with artillery shells, machine-gun fire and fire from a Merkava tank, according to our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah.

Yemen: Nearly 20,000 displaced after fighting in southwest

The resumption of hostilities between the Iran-backed Houthi rebels and pro-government forces in southwestern Yemen has already forced nearly 20,000 people to flee their homes, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.

The rebels launched a new offensive last week targeting areas along the Bab al-Mandab Strait on the Red Sea, which has gained importance since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East and Iran’s blockade of the strategic Strait of Hormuz on the other side of the Arabian Peninsula.

The clashes with pro-government forces have killed more than 300 people since Thursday and displaced numerous families, according to sources from both sides interviewed by AFP.

“We are deeply alarmed by the escalation of violence along Yemen’s west coast, which, as of yesterday, had displaced more than 18,500 people,” IOM Yemen chief of mission Abdusattor Esoev told reporters from Aden. “The number of displaced people is increasing by the hour, as families continue to arrive in host communities and displacement sites,” the U.N. agency said.

Kfar Roummane buries its dead a day after Israeli strikes killed 12

Funerals for the victims of two Israeli strikes — one carried out by a fighter jet and the other by a drone — began in Kfar Roummane on Monday, after the strikes killed 12 people in the village overnight Sunday. The remains of one of the people reported missing were recovered from beneath the rubble of the targeted building this morning.

Nine members of the Farhat family were among those killed, including several children.

More than 100 mourners accompanied the funeral procession. The coffins were draped in Lebanese flags, with two also covered with Hezbollah flags and another with the flag of the Islamic Mission Scouts Association (al-Rissala), affiliated with the Amal Movement.

Two of the nine members of the family killed in the strikes were Hezbollah members: Hajj Hassan Mohammad Farhat and Hussein Mohammad Farhat.

The drone strike, which targeted a car in the village, also killed two rescuers from the Islamic Mission Scouts Association.

New Israeli demolitions reported in Mansouri after several days of destruction

Israeli demolition operations are continuing in Mansouri (Sour), which has been particularly targeted by home demolitions in recent days. A fourth blast since this morning has just been reported in the village. Around 15 explosions were recorded there yesterday.

Houthis claim large-scale attack on Aramco facilities, threaten to continue operations inside Saudi Arabia

The Houthis said they had carried out a “large-scale military operation” targeting several Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia and the Khamis Mushait air base, using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, in response to Saudi strikes carried out over the past three days in Yemen.

In their statement, the Houthis held Riyadh responsible for the escalation and warned that “any attack” on Yemen would draw a “decisive response,” threatening to carry out “even more powerful and widespread” strikes against Saudi Arabia.

The Houthis also said they would continue their operations “deep inside Saudi territory,” particularly against troop concentrations, until “the end of the aggression” and the lifting of the blockade imposed on Yemen.

Kfar Shuba: Israeli army raises flag on one of the hills for second time in less than 2 weeks

An Israeli force carried out an overnight incursion on the outskirts of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya), a predominantly Sunni border village that has remained inhabited in recent months despite the occupation, our correspondent reports. The force raised the Israeli flag on one of the village’s hills.

On Aug. 29, Israeli forces had already carried out an incursion into the eastern part of the village and raised the Israeli flag on the roof of a house.

Saudi Arabia condemns Houthi attacks on its territory

Saudi Arabia condemned attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthis against its territory, which wounded 73 civilians, saying it would take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty.

“The Kingdom reaffirms its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “stressing the need for an immediate end to all forms of escalation practiced by this militia, as well as its continued threats to maritime navigation.”

Southern Lebanon: 10 villages targeted by airstrikes, 7 by artillery and 5 by Israeli demolitions on Monday

On Monday, Israeli aircraft carried out numerous strikes targeting seven villages in southern Lebanon, while drones struck three other localities. Seven villages were also targeted by intense artillery fire.

The Israeli army also carried out major demolition operations in five localities, particularly in Mansouri, where the destruction of homes continued for several hours throughout the day. Homes were also set on fire in another locality in the South.

Relative calm in southern Lebanon overnight despite Israeli fire targeting several border villages

Southern Lebanon experienced relative calm overnight and early Tuesday compared with the previous three bloody days, despite sporadic Israeli attacks continuing, mainly artillery and machine-gun fire targeting several border villages, our correspondent in the region, Mountasser Abdallah, reports.

While Mansouri was repeatedly shelled by artillery, Israeli forces opened automatic-weapons fire from Beit Yahoun toward the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal. Other heavy fire was directed toward Khiam and Beit Yahoun. The Dabcheh area of Kfar Roummane also came under artillery fire.

At midnight, Israeli forces opened fire toward the outskirts of Braasheet, while Israeli artillery targeted the area between the village and Beit Yahoun. The shelling then spread to the outskirts of both villages, reaching the vicinity of Aita al-Jabal.

Saudi Arabia: Attacks on energy sites caused some operations to be suspended

Attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen targeted energy sites in southern Saudi Arabia, causing fires and temporarily halting some operations, the Saudi Energy Ministry said.

“Several energy-sector facilities and infrastructure in the south of the Kingdom were targeted Tuesday morning,” a ministry official quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said, adding that the attacks caused injuries and “fires at several sites, resulting in the temporary suspension of some operations.”

Yemen: Houthi attacks wound 73 in Saudi Arabia

A series of Houthi attacks from Yemen wounded 73 civilians in southwestern Saudi Arabia, the Riyadh-led coalition allied with the Yemeni government said Tuesday, vowing to retaliate against the Iran-backed rebel group.

The strikes targeted “civilian and economic sites” in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, coalition spokesman Gen. Turki al-Maliki wrote on X, pledging to take “all necessary measures and actions to respond to the sources of the threat and neutralize the danger they represent.”
