Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) leader Gebran Bassil wants to establish himself as the sole opposition figure to the Nawaf Salam government. To that end, he launched a (new) political battle against the prime minister and his team on Tuesday. The Batroun MP, who never misses an opportunity to criticize the government, once again threatened to call for a vote of confidence, an attempt he had already made in July 2025, without success. But he may end up fighting this battle alone.
