BEIRUT — Images of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei will soon be released, showing him among the public and meeting with armed forces commanders, a senior Basij official said Sunday.
Khamenei, who was appointed supreme leader in March, has not been seen in public since then.
In an article published by Mizan, the Iranian judiciary's news agency, appeared intended to end speculation about his health. Senior Iranian officials have said he suffered facial injuries and physical aftereffects in the strike that killed his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, on Feb. 28, the first day of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
An undated video showing (Mojtaba) Khamenei, in what appears to be a teaching session, had been released by the Mehr news agency, without providing any information about the date or location where it was filmed.
