Lebanese soldier killed in accident near Qornet al-Sawda

BEIRUT — A Lebanese Army sergeant died from his injuries after a military vehicle overturned in the mountainous Oyoun Orghoch area, on the road leading to Qornet al-Sawda in North Lebanon, our correspondent in the area, reported.

The victim, Elie Hamid Jbeily, was from Karm Asfur in Akkar. Another soldier was also injured in the accident, and his condition is described as stable.

A military helicopter evacuated both injured soldiers to Notre-Dame-des-Secours Hospital in Jbeil. However, medical teams were unable to save Sergeant Jbeily due to the severity of his injuries.
