BEIRUT — Despite a “cease-fire” announced in October 2025, Israeli bombardments have grown increasingly deadly in recent days in the Gaza Strip as Gaza’s Ministry of Health said Israeli attacks have killed 42 people and wounded 122 over the past week.

According to its latest update published Wednesday at noon, Israeli strikes on Gaza have killed at least 11 Palestinians in the past 24 hours. The ministry also reported one more killed, after a person succumbed to wounds sustained in an earlier strike, as well as 12 more injuries.

On Tuesday, an Israeli strike killed six members of the al-Masri family which hit their apartment in Gaza City, according to several local media outlets.

Since the “cease-fire” between Hamas and Israel took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli army strikes and gunfire have continued. Since the theoretical halt in hostilities, Israeli strikes have killed at least 1,180 Palestinians and wounded 3,810, according to the ministry.

In total, Israeli attacks on the enclave have killed at least 73,305 Palestinians and wounded another 173,918 since the start of the genocidal offensive October 7, 2023.

Many victims remain trapped under the rubble or in inaccessible areas of the Palestinian territory, around 70% of which is under Israeli military control, according to Gaza authorities.
