Lebanon and Israel have concluded the sixth round of negotiations on an agreement aimed at launching the implementation of “pilot zones” in southern Lebanon, and a virtual military meeting is scheduled for Friday to examine the mechanisms for carrying it out. According to L’Orient-Le Jour’s information, the pilot zones — where the Lebanese Army is expected to deploy — will be divided between occupied areas, from which Israeli forces would withdraw, and non-occupied areas, namely Zawtar Sharqieh, Zawtar Gharbieh, Froun, Ghandourieh, Qalawieh and Burj Qalawieh Israel is also seeking to add the town of Srifa (Sour district) to the list so that the Lebanese Army can deploy there to dismantle Hezbollah’s arsenal, which is believed to maintain numerous military positions in the area.
