Iran said Saturday that U.S. strikes the previous day against its territory constituted a "flagrant violation" of the protocol agreement reached with the United States aimed at ending the war in the Middle East.

Iran "strongly condemns the airstrikes carried out by the American terrorist army on the evening of Friday, July 26, against several sites located on Iran's southern coast," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

These strikes "constitute a flagrant violation of paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the United Nations Charter and a flagrant violation of paragraph 1 of the protocol agreement" reached in mid-June with the United States, the Iranian Foreign Ministry added.
