The speech given Sunday by Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem had all the hallmarks of a victory speech. After all, his militia was emboldened by the breakthrough in talks between the United States and Iran, which seemed on the verge of reaching a favorable agreement for the Islamic Republic and, by extension, its proxies. The latter assure, moreover, that the deal being hammered out includes a “halt to the war on all fronts,” which would be a boon for the party.Buoyed by this momentum, Qassem adopted a threatening tone.
