Pressure on the Lebanese state is continuing. On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington was preparing to put in place a framework to train “certain” units of the Lebanese Army with a view to disarming Hezbollah.“Israel will not have to do it,” Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.The United States is a key partner of the Lebanese Army as it provides it with military equipment which, albeit outdated, is seen as essential.
