BEIRUT — The Litani River Authority said in a statement on Sunday that a team of its workers at the Abdel Aal Hydroelectric Power Plant survived an indirect hit to their vehicle following an Israeli airstrike that targeted the area of Mashghara in the Western Bekaa.
"The Litani River Authority affirms that its technical and administrative teams continue to operate the Abdel Aal plant and the entire hydroelectric power generation system," the statement read.
The Authority also called for "keeping vital installations and their workers out of harm’s way and protecting them from any threats to their safety and the safety of public facilities."
The strike on Mashghara targeted a house in the village earlier on Sunday, killing one person and wounding two. It was the only reported strike in the Bekaa on Sunday. Meanwhile, in south Lebanon, Israeli warplanes and drones have been carrying strikes continuously, as the war between Hezbollah and Israel persists despite the cease-fire in Iran.
