BEIRUT — Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday. According to a government source relayed to L'Orient Today, the meeting between the two presidents is expected to pave the way for "a Cabinet decision on the negotiations."
Nawaf Salam then met with President Joseph Aoun before the start of the Cabinet meeting at Baabda Palace.
After his meeting with Salam, Berri received Egypt's ambassador to Beirut, Alaa Moussa. Cairo is involved in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in Lebanon.
