BEIRUT— Syrian state media Al-Akhbariya reported that a 17-year-old Syrian, identified as Oussama Fahad, was killed on Friday by an artillery shell fired from an Israeli tank in the Quneitra region, near the border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Protests have taken place in recent days near the border, with Syrian demonstrators reacting to the adoption of a bill by the Israeli parliament legalizing the death penalty for Palestinians accused of killing Israelis.
