Why we must support the President to head the Lebanese state

Lebanon is going through one of its most critical periods in recent history. For the second time in less than two years, the country is facing a disaster, with already more than a thousand dead and nearly a million people displaced, forced onto the roads under Israeli fire; an aggression following irresponsible Hezbollah strikes launched against Israel without the Lebanese state's approval or the consent of a large part of the population. And we are witnessing, powerless, this tragedy, which reminds us of a simple reality: as long as weapons remain outside the control of the state, Lebanon will stay exposed to wars it did not choose.Powerless?
