A spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its deputy of public relations, Ali Mohammad Naini, has been killed in strikes launched by the U.S. and Israel, Iranian state TV reported on Friday.
There is no mention of the time he was killed or whether it is during the waves of strikes that we have been reporting on since midnight. Some of the strikes hit eastern Tehran, some of them in other cities like Karaj, Kerman, Bandar Lengeh port and Kashan.
Naini is from Kashan and he’s a 68-year-old second brigadier general in the IRGC … he was appointed in 2024 as a spokesman for the IRGC.
Earlier in the morning, hours before the announcement of his killing, the spokesman had said that “missile production is doing wonderfully” in Iran and that “there is no concern about it, because even in wartime we continue to manufacture missiles.”
