BEIRUT — At least one person was killed and nine others were injured Tuesday in an Israeli strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut, hit three times since the morning.
The strike hit the vicinity of the old airport road, called Imam Khomeini Avenue, near the al-Rassoul al-Aazam hospital in the south of Beirut, killing at least one person and injuring nine others, according to a provisional toll from the Health Ministry.
The head of Civil Aviation, Mohammad Aziz, quickly responded to information circulating on social media, assuring that the airport was operating normally and that the road leading to it was passable.
The last person killed in an airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut was recorded on Friday, when a raid struck a car in the Jnah district.
Previously, the southern suburbs had been targeted in the Laylaki neighborhoods without causing any casualties, although the area has been under a massive evacuation order for more than a week issued by the Israeli army.
