BEIRUT — Israel said Tuesday that it killed "Abuzar Mohammadi, a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps," who was active in Hezbollah's "ballistic missile unit," in a strike on Lebanon.

According to a statement from the Israeli army's Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, Mohammadi was "a central figure in the military coordination between Hezbollah and the Iranian regime, serving as the main intermediary between Hezbollah and senior Iranian officials."

He also "played a key role in developing Hezbollah's ballistic capabilities and worked on their reconstruction following Operation Northern Arrows," which Israel launched against the militia party in September 2024. According to Adraee, Mohammadi "oversaw operations within the missile unit" in 2024 and during the ongoing escalation.

The Israeli military did not specify where Mohammadi was killed, but accompanied its message on X with a video apparently showing a drone strike on a two-wheeler.

Three such drone strikes were recorded Tuesday in Lebanon: in Ouzai, Siddiqine, and in Cana, southern Lebanon.
