An Israeli strike hit an apartment in the Ramada hotel building in Raouche, central Beirut, early on Sunday, killing at least four people and injuring 10 others, according to the Health Ministry.

The hotel was housing people displaced by Israel's intense escalation in southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs. The strike happened at around 2:40 a.m., displacing residents once again.

The attack marked the first Israeli strike to hit the heart of Beirut since the November 2024 cease-fire with Hezbollah.

Israel claimed it targeted key commanders of Iran's elite Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards but did not name them.

Last week, Israel claimed it killed the commander of Iran's Quds Force in Lebanon, Daoud Ali Zadeh, in a strike in Tehran.
