The Iranian military said Saturday it had launched a new “massive wave of drone attacks” targeting Israel and U.S. bases in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, according to state media.

“The Iranian navy targeted U.S. bases and the occupied territories [Israel, which Iran does not recognize] with a massive wave of drone attacks,” the armed forces said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.

Among the targets mentioned were Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, which hosts U.S. troops, another base in Kuwait, and a “strategic facility” in Israel, the statement said.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard later said it had also targeted Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, which hosts U.S. forces.

“During this attack, the American terrorists’ air warfare center, satellite communications center, early warning radars and fire-control radars were hit,” the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement carried by the Tasnim news agency.

The war in the Middle East entered its second week Saturday, spreading to multiple countries in the region.

Before dawn, Israel carried out one of its largest waves of airstrikes since launching its bombing campaign on Feb. 28, targeting a military academy, an underground command center and a missile storage facility, according to the Israeli military.
