An Iranian military official has threatened to target Israel's Dimona nuclear site, located in the Negev desert, if the United States seeks to overthrow the Islamic Republic regime, according to Reuters, citing a statement published by the ISNA news agency.
On Sept. 23, Iranian state television broadcast documents and images it presented as being related to Israel's nuclear program, which has never been officially confirmed or denied by Israel, a country that is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Iran has notably accused the IAEA of failing to condemn Israeli and then American strikes that targeted its nuclear facilities during the June 2025 war.
The Bushehr nuclear plant, the only operational facility in Iran located in the south of the country, was threatened by the Israeli military during the 12 days of hostilities but was not targeted.
