NORTH LEBANON — A detainee who escaped Friday while being transported in an Internal Security Forces vehicle in Tripoli was captured about an hour later, our North Lebanon correspondent reported.
Nicknamed Abou Shaara, he managed to open one of the vehicle's doors despite being handcuffed.
Tripoli, the capital of North Lebanon, is one of the country’s poorest cities. It was recently shaken by the collapse of dilapidated buildings that left several people dead.
