Israel kills one man in Siddiqine, targets Naqoura

Israel killed one person in Siddiqine (Sour district) on Friday, targeted the outskirts of Naqoura (Sour) with machine-gun fire, and an Israeli drone that had previously crashed in Rab al-Thalathine (Marjayoun) was found in the town, our correspondent in the south reported.

According to the Israeli army’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee, the man targeted in Siddiqin was a Hezbollah operative. The drone targeted his car with two strikes on the outskirts of the town.

Additionally, an Israeli drone that had previously crashed in the town of Rab al-Thalathine, (Marjayoun) was found, our correspondent in the south reported. Furthermore, Israeli medium machine-gun sweep targeted the outskirts of the coastal town of Naqoura (Sour).

'Anger and condemnation' in Saida over the continued killing of journalists by Israel

Separately, dozens of media professionals held a protest vigil in Saida on Friday morning to express "anger and condemnation" over Israel's continued killing of journalists, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the south reported.

During the protest, held under the banner ‘Israel Kills Journalists,’ photos were raised of Al-Manar TV journalist Sheikh Ali Noureddine, who hosted a religious program on the channel and was killed on Monday in an Israeli drone strike that targeted him in Hosh (Sour.)

By L'Orient Today's count, 14 journalists have been killed in Lebanon since the war broke out between Hezbollah and Israel on Oct.8 2023.

According to a December report by Reporters Without Borders, nearly 220 journalists have been killed by Israel since the launch of the war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, making the Palestinian territory by far the deadliest place in the world for journalists.
