'Financial gap' law sparks near-universal backlash
Beyond the stated arguments by the BDL, depositors, MPs and commercial banks, the range of objections points to an ongoing battle of narratives that has persisted since the crisis began.

Criticism has intensified since Cabinet adopted the draft law aimed at restoring financial order and returning deposits and referred it to parliament in late December. However, this criticism has not followed a single line. From the central bank to professional associations, political parties, and NGOs, each group examined the text based on its own priorities, concerns, and interests.
