BEIRUT — More than 200 families, who left Syria after the fall of the former Assad regime, are now living in a residential complex recently constructed on the outskirts of Hermel, in the Bekaa near the Lebanese-Syrian border. These include Syrian migrants as well as Lebanese people who were living in villages in Syria.According to a source closely following the case and contacted by L'Orient Today, Hezbollah, which was a close ally to the Assad regime, as well as some of the group’s allies, are involved in financing the project.
